Curling is a sport in which players slide stones (rocks) on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four circles.
Two team of four players, take turns sliding the heavy rocks made of polished granite stones pushing across the ice curling sheet toward the house, a circular target marked on the ice
The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a game; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each end
The Curling Club was founded in 1909 and has been in its present location since 1978. In 1985 the facility ownership was transferred to the RDKB. The Club’s membership continues to operate and maintain the facility through its Registered Society. The lounge and the rink area, in the off season, are well used by community organizations and individuals in Grand Forks for athletic and social gatherings. Our aim is to provide a safe and pleasant facility for our region, while promoting the sport of Curling.
Social camaraderie is encouraged with post league activities and bonspiels, our Motto is to
Learn – Compete – Have Fun!
